I just love to take a trip any time my time and money permits it. Our latest visit to the Philippines got me all worked up and planning to obtain pictures when we finally visited Cebu City, one of the major metropolitan areas within the Philippines. Much of the Philippines’ colourful history started out in Cebu. We all travelled and got a few images of the Magellan cross which was supposedly the first cross which had been placed in the island the moment Magellan uncovered the Philippines in 1521. I greedily took out my blackberry curve to take some snap shots of the unusual meals that I noticed in the pavement of Colon, an incredibly hectic section of the city which can be like their local edition of Times Square in NY devoid of the cursing taxi cab drivers. I saw there were unusual street foods available and I had been actually lured to consume a number of them but my far better common sense told me other wise. So I simply decided to have some pictures of what they call Balut which is a duck egg which has a half developed chick inside it. I noticed myself regretting to look at my FIlipino guide on the way he eats it considering that I almost regurgitated the majority of of the food I had from breakfast. As I enjoyably took photographs of the street feast, one of our Pinoy guides suggested me to be mindful not to display off with my BlackBerry because there is a chance I may well be mugged or robbed and advice is well taken. I know of a few men and women being robbed and their laptop computers and smart phones taken away right from them even though they have taken safeguards currently. I do have insurance for blackberry in which I made a decision to take when I obtained my BB Curve last 12 months and one way or another, blackberry insurance does give me peace of mind in respect to my phone, but not really to the extent of getting reckless. Blackberry insurance was designed as precaution safeguard, so I made a decision that I should not flash my phone in open public too often. So I guess the majority of of the snapshot taking would be carried out in a much more “discreet way” so to speak. The ambiance of the Philippines and there in Cebu City is truly exotic and just for a quick time, while I was not really ready to take a taste of those “exotic” special treats, acquiring some photographs as memories and memory joggers may fix me so in which the next time I watch a local man try to eat balut, I would certainly be guaranteed that I have an empty belly to begin with.

3D movies have been around since the 1950s, with images jumping off the screen right at you. Making you feel as if you are right there, in the movie alongside your favorite actor. New advanced technology is taking that 3D from the big screen and bringing it right into the home, complete with new active glasses. But before rushing out and investing one of these new sets, you have to ask yourself if you are ready to buy 3D TVs?

Gamers can expect to be pulled right into their game with scenes and characters all around them. This takes gaming to another level as you are running alongside your character, battling zombies or flying across rooftops on your skateboard. It truly creates a gaming experience like never seen before.

Movie viewing at home will be an experience like no other with 3D DVDs. You’ll be immersed in the storyline, the surroundings, and the character unlike ever before. And, you can forget those old red and blue 3D glasses of the past. Because of the new glasses made with liquid-crystal lenses, things will be clearer and the color more intense.

Some of the TVs will convert 2D programs to 3D, so you can basically watch everything in 3D. But the technology is still in its infancy stage and may take another generation or two in order to be as good as made-for-screen 3D. Demos are around that show this process and although reported to work fine, they could stand for some improvement to truly live up to 3D standards.

The one thing all the 3D TVs models will have in common though is that they will offer 2D TV also. The 2D content will be displayed in as good of quality as a regular 2D TV. This is actually needed for when there are health issues that prevent one from watching 3D and if the glasses that go with it are out of battery.

Like with anything new, there are some warnings that come with this new technology. This warns that children and teenagers can be susceptible to issues connected to viewing 3D. It also warns that pregnant women, the elderly with health conditions, and anyone overly tired should avoid 3D altogether. The warning doesn’t stop there though, it advises against drinking alcohol and watching TV also. Not a good thing for those who enjoy sports and beer at the same time.

There are many advantages as well as disadvantages. Among those the great experience of immersing yourself in game or movie with a pair of a bit more stylish glasses than before. But cost, health issues, and lifestyle all will play a part in the decision. Deciding if you are ready or not for the new 3D TVs will play a major part in their attractiveness and their necessity in your home.

A telecomms audit can help companies of any size to get the most from the cash they spend on communications. While it is possible to carry out your own audits and your own research, there’s no question that a trained pro can see what an amateur frequently can’t, especially if that greenhorn has been working in a certain workplace doing things a certain way for a long period of time. Naturally, the expertise of such a trained pro doesn’t come cheap, and it is up to every individual business to decide whether the expense is justified in each specific case.

There are, of course, different aspects to the utilization of telecomms. In small corporations, internal telecomms use is not likely to be complex enough to deserve examination by a trained auditor, but when you’re handling giant companies the cost simply on internal communications can be very high. Good telecommunication auditing can introduce more effective systems, and more cost efficient systems through more in depth use of the Net. In the case of most established companies, it is possible to make substantial savings with an equipment overhaul.

Out-going calls from customer service departments can also be a major expense for many big companies. In this example Nevertheless, the auditor is restricted in what they are able to do because they will be able to only control what occurs on one end of the conversation. Whereas it is always possible to have two staff of the same company switch to Web based communication so all calls can be made for free, the same is not true when the common public is involved. Any telecommunications audit here will have to concentrate on cost reduction, and also reducing the average length of calls.

The one area where telecomms cost control can make he most difference is with internal communications overseas. If you have a company which regularly sends staff out of the country, there’ll be a need for them to remain in communication with head office. Traditionally, this can have been done by telephone, but the cost of global calls is still not inexpensive. If the staff are in the practice of using cellular telephones, the costs will be even larger. Changing to Net based communication can save serious amounts of money.

After the gear use has been optimised to the highest degree, it is time to take a look at the length of calls and the utilization of worker time. Any increase in efficiency may appear little at the start, but it can shortly add up as the effect is cumulative. Blend more effective utilisation of worker time with the usage of less expensive equipment, and you will gain the maximum possible benefit from a telecommunications audit.

As the number of Android smartphones continues to grow, how does one distinguish itself from the many others? Factor in that most smartphones are merely rebadged versions of several core designs and that question now seems much more tricky to answer. However difficult, there is an answer, and any carrier seeking a template may want to look toward the amazingly successful myTouch 3G Slide. In this particular case, T-Mobile has managed to stand apart with potent, innovative software that’s unlike anything you have seen in today’s market. Then, they paired all of that power with an unparalleled collection of customization options in the form of myTouch 3G Slide accessories, myTouch 3G Slide cases and myTouch 3G Slide screen protectors. So with that out of the way, let us examine the top features of this brilliant smartphone.

According the development team at T-Mobile, the company spent four times the amount of time developing the software for the myTouch 3G Slide than they did the last version of the smartphone. Why would they do this? Well, they saw it as an investment which would not only be used for the Slide but is going to provide the core functionality for all other future devices down the line. Seeing how the amount of time and money that was put into developing such software will establish great expectations. It won’t disappoint. It all starts with the heavily modified HTC Sense interface that includes 45 expertly modified widgets. Some popular features, such as the home screen shortcuts and themed notification bar, are there and intact. Three core features that really enhance the user experience are the Faves Gallery, MyModes, and the Genius button. The Faves Gallery is an all-in-one networking hub that aggregates email, text messages, and contact status. MyModes is an amazing feature that changes the device theme, including the sounds and homescreens, based on time, location, or both. This feature is likely to become an industry-wide feature. The Genius button activates the voice recognition system that allows you make phone calls, compose text messages, and even search the webthrough the mere sound of your voice. As you might know, Android 2.1 supports voice recognition natively through Google’s services. However, what makes the myTouch a little different is that the Slide utilizes “hybrid architecture” so that it can work locally using its own technology or in the cloud using Google’s.

Although focusing the myTouch 3G Slide with only these three features tend to oversimplify it overall, it does highlight how T-Mobile has managed to stand out in a sea of fierce competition. The Slide also includes all of the must have features, such as a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, Outlook synchronization, and all the apps you’d expect on any Android smartphone. T-Mobile has also included extra apps that don’t come standard on other phones, such as myMusic, which is similar to Pandora, and Quick Office, which includes the game Abduction. The 3G Slide is an excellent little gamer device, thanks in part to the additional memory. It can play games like Raging Thunder 2 flawlessly despite it being unplayable on much of the competition. So will all of its features, apps, gaming capabilities to enrich your smartphone needs with the myTouch 3G Slide accessories, myTouch 3G Slide cases and myTouch 3G Slide screen protectors to enhance your myTouch 3G Slide experience, this is definitely a phone to live up to the publicity.

As news of the iPad shutting down whenever it gets too hot still filtering its way around the internet, it has now been suggested that countries in Asia are too humid for iPhones. The handsets, which aren’t particularly happy in hot conditions anyway, are said to not be suitable for any country with a humidity above 95%.

The number of iPhone owners in Asian counties with voided warranties due to supposed water damage has been growing recently, drawing attention to the potential problem. Further investigations have suggested that the liquid indicators found on iPhones were affected by particularly high humidity.

This issue doesn’t appear to be totally specific to Asian countries however, as a woman in America has made a similar claim against the gadgets‘ maker, Apple. The woman claims her warranty was voided on an iPhone who’s liquid indicators had been affected by the humidity.

Consumers in Asia are understandably upset, claiming that if the product doesn’t operate properly in countries with 95% humidity, it shouldn’t be sold in those countries. This seems to be a legitimate complaint, and one that Apple have yet to address.

The news of the problem with the iPhone comes just after the story of a man in China who was killed after his Nokia handset exploded during a call. The story is the first one of its kind where the phone wasn’t being charged at the time of explosion and has bought up some worrying issues about how phones are made in China and how heat affects them.

So if you have relatives in particularly hot countries and you’re trying to find Christmas gifts or Birthday presents, you might be wise to steer clear of iPhones, iPads and mobiles in general.

If you are thinking of buying a mobile phone you may be a bit confused by some of the terminology. The language associated with mobile phones seems to becoming more complex as mobile phones become more sophisticated. Below you will find some of the more common mobile phone terms that you might hear.

- GSM stands for Global Systems for Mobile Communications. This system is by far the most popular one for mobile phone communications; you really can’t argue with 43 billion users worldwide.

- 1G, 2G, 3G, & 4G mobile phones. The ‘G’ in all of this refers to generation. The original cellular phones were first generation and the latest phones are fourth generation. At the moment there is a lot of talk about fifth generation phones. These newer phones can handle much more data than their predeccessors.

- SIM Card. The word SIM stands for Subscriber Identity Module and this is where all the information about the subscriber’s identity is stored. SIM Cards are where passwords and unique identity numbers of the subscriber are stored. A SIM card is needed in order to be able to use the phone.

- Bluetooth. Blue tooth is an open wireless network and it enables users to pass information to each other over certain distances; most phones these days come with bluetooth. Bluetooth is very handy as you can pass things such as music and photos between phones.

- SMS is Short Messaging Services. It refers to communication between one phone and another.

- MMS is short for Multimedia Messaging Service and this enables people to send things such as audio, video, photos or ringtones from one phone to another one.

- Many mobile phones now have GPS which refers to Global Positional Services. The reason for having this function is to ensure that our location can be found by using the mobile phone.

SD Cards can be found in countless products nowadays. 32gb Ultra SD cards are a good example. One more that you could find on your travels is the R4i.
